Gyre Plastic Trash Babies are made with love from repurposed plastic bags, stuffed with bubble wrap, held together with tape and wire, and covered with plastic flotsam and jetsam from around the artist's home and found on the streets, beaches, and other places where plastic trash congregates. Babies represent joie de vivre (joy of life) and all that is precious and wonderful. While no babies were harmed during the creative process, the manufacturing of plastic is a harmful process that is unhealthy to babies and other living things. Please delight in this colorful baby, letting it remind you to reduce the amount of plastic in your life; bring your own bags to the store, use products not packaged in plastic, and recycle what you can.
